Solar at Abbotsleigh

"Autonomous Energy were a terrific company to work with, from the early stages of the grant application through to the completion of the project they were extreemly prfessional in all aspects of the process. Autonomous Energy was happy to work with the school to minimise the impact of installing the panels. If you want to work with a professional company that endeavours to provide you with best possible results I can recommend Autonomous Energy."

Project Description

In August 2009 Autonomous Energy installed 5kW of solar electricity at Abbotsleigh, one of Australia’s leading schools for girls with over 800 students at Abbotsleigh Senior School and over 400 students at Abbotsleigh Junior School. At the Senior School a 5kW system was installed on the roof of the Senior Studies Centre. This system is amongst the first solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installed under the Commonwealth Government’s National Solar Schools Program. The system comprises 28 high efficiency 180W multi-crystalline PV solar modules manufactured by Kyocera. The arrays are mounted on engineered, solar specific mounting equipment and are connected to an SMA inverter which connects to the electricity network via a digital bi-directional meter. The system is also connected to the internet via a smart meter system which automatically uploads the systems energy production data to a dedicated website, where it can be accessed by students and the school community.
