This is the Privacy Policy of Autonomous Energy Pty Ltd. Autonomous Energy will observe this Privacy Policy for the collection, storage and use of personal information.  For the purpose of this policy document, we are referred to as “Autonomous Energy” or “We”.

Open & transparent management of personal information
Autonomous Energy has made this Privacy Policy available to individuals upon request and/or if required.  This policy is available free of charge in the following formats: written, electronic or recorded.
The personal information we may collect about you could include your name, your e-mail address, company name, ABN or ACN, address, title, contact telephone, facsimile, country and any product purchases. If connected to a business we may also collect the names and addresses of the directors, proprietors and owners, any personal guarantors and reports from credit reporting agencies, which is collected as part of our credit application processes.
We do offer links to third party websites on our websites. Before disclosing your personal information on any other website, we advise you to examine the terms and conditions of using that website and its privacy statement.

Use of Cookies
Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognise your browser and capture and remember certain information. Our websites use cookies to anonymously distinguish you from other users of our services and to provide increased functionality when you are using our services. Anonymity & Pseudonymity
Autonomous Energy will not collect or monitor any personal information about an individual without their expressed or implied consent. Personal information is required for the purposes of establishing a relationship with our customers, performing the necessary credit checks in accordance with our credit application processes, providing and marketing our goods and services to customers and receiving payment for the same.

Collection of solicited information other than sensitive information
If personal information concerns particular beliefs or backgrounds, it is considered to be of a sensitive nature. Such information may include:
  • racial background
  • political opinions and political party memberships
  • religious or philosophical beliefs
  • trade union affiliations or membership
  • sexual preferences
  • criminal record
  • health record
Autonomous Energy does not collect sensitive information.
Autonomous Energy may collect personal information about you from other sources including public sources and credit reporting agencies.

Dealing with unsolicited personal information
Should Autonomous Energy receive personal information, and did not solicit the information, Autonomous Energy will decide whether or not the personal information would have normally been collected In the event that the personal information would not normally have been collected, it will be de-identified and destroyed.

Notification of the collection of personal information
In the majority of cases, we will require you to specifically consent to any collection, use or disclosure of your personal information by Autonomous Energy. Your consent may be requested in writing or verbally; expressed or implied.

Use & Disclosure of your personal information
Autonomous Energy uses the personal information we collect so that we may continue to conduct our business of providing ongoing products and services. The personal information you provide may be utilised at a later date to allow us to market direct to yourselves information about our additional products and services offered by Autonomous Energy or associated entities.
We may also disclose your personal information to our suppliers and third parties that perform other services for us in connection with the sale and provision of our goods and services, including third parties who:

Direct Marketing
At times we may disclose personal information to third parties and our associated entities to market to you Autonomous Energy and associated entities products and/or services. We respect an individual’s choice to opt-out of direct marketing communications activities. Cross Border disclosure
Autonomous Energy may disclose personal information to third party data storage facilities that may be located in Australia and other countries including the United States of America and Japan.

Adoption, use or disclosure of Governmental related identifiers
Autonomous Energy does not use Commonwealth Identifiers as a means of identifying the personal information we collect from you.

Quality of personal information
Autonomous Energy relies on the personal information we hold to efficiently continue our business relationship with you. For this reason it is of utmost importance that the personal information we collect from you is accurate, complete and up to date. At times, we will ask you to inform us of any changes to your personal information, however you can contact us at any time to update your personal information or advise us if any information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete.

Security of personal information
Autonomous Energy ensures that your information is secure by protecting it from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. We maintain physical security over our paper and electronic data stores and premises, such as locks and security systems. We also maintain computer and network security; for example, we use firewalls and other security systems such as user identifiers and passwords to control access to computer systems.
We keep personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or to comply with any applicable legal or ethical reporting or document retention requirements.

Notification of Data Breaches
In the unlikely event that we believe there has been a data breach at Autonomous Energy, we will attempt to take remedial action before any serious harm or loss of information occurs. However, where we believe after remedial action that the data breach is likely to result in serious harm to any of the individuals to whom the information relates, we will notify individuals who may be affected within 30 days of becoming aware that there has been a data breach. Furthermore, we will prepare a statement that sets out the identity and contact details of the entity, describes the data breach, sets out the kinds of information concerned and recommends steps that individuals should take in response.  A copy of this statement will also be sent to the Australian Information Commissioner.

Access to Personal Information
If you would like to know what information we currently hold about you, please contact our Privacy Officer in writing at the address below.  To protect the confidentiality of your details we will require some proof of identity in advance. If Autonomous Energy refuses you access to personal information or credit eligibility information, we will provide you with written notice that sets out the reason for the refusal and the mechanism available to complain about the refusal.

Correction of personal information
We will also correct, amend or delete any personal information that we agree is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading or if an individual requests Autonomous Energy to correct the information.
