Energy Efficiency Upgrades (Design and Construct)

ANZ Bank has publicly committed to reducing their environmental footprint of their operations through innovation and efficiency. They identified 'premises energy' as their most significant environmental impact and set annual targets to reduce emissions associated with this type of energy use.

To help ANZ achieve their corporate sustainability objectives Autonomous Energy and consortium partners designed and engineered a highly customised energy efficient lighting retrofit for ANZ Bank’s global Headquarters at 100 Queen Street, Melbourne. This project involved lighting design, specification, supply of all equipment and project management.

Autonomous Energy solution

  • Over 6,500 individual lighting fixtures replaced with brand new custom designed luminaires. Each luminaire is seamlessly integrated with the building’s HVAC supply and return air reticulation system.
  • All installation work was conducted out-of-hours so as to not disrupt day-to-day professional activities in the offices.
  • Autonomous Energy managed the creation of the Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) subsidy, which resulted in a rebate to the client of approximately $100,000.
  • The energy efficient building retrofit will lead to a projected annual energy cost saving of $300,000 and has facilitated an improvement in the NABERS Energy star rating for this building.
