Autonomous Energy was selected by Lend Lease to design and install a solar power system on the roof of International House Sydney (C2 Building) at Barangaroo. The system was designed by our experienced solar PV engineers and includes optimisers to ensure the high performance of the system in all weather conditions.
This solar PV system was carefully designed to maximise the energy generation of a system which will be heavily shaded. The system is shaded by office buildings to the east of Barangaroo in the morning and by the Barangaroo towers in the afternoon. For this reason, a Solar Edge system with power optimiser was integrated.
The project was installed by our in-house installation team and was delivered to the highest levels of Safety, Quality and Performance.
We continue to work closely with Lend Lease on a number of solar projects and other sustainable initiatives.
Autonomous Energy solution
- High efficiency LG panels were selected. The system features 346 LG 320W NeON2 panels
- Solar Edge power optimisers were used - 66 x P350 Solar Edge optimisers + 280 x P500 Solar Edge optimisers
- East-west facing system to maximise the number of panels on the roof
- Aesthetically pleasing array that matches the perimeter shape of the building
- Unique ballast mounted system on a concrete roof. Mounting feet were chemset anchored into the concrete sleepers/lintels and Scheltter FixZ-7 mounting rails installed perpendicular to the sleepers. No penetrations were made on the concrete roof
- This project is the first where a Kipp & Zonen pyranometer was used for verification of solar production. A weather station was also installed
- During 2018 the system generated 82.91 MWh of energy
