In June 2013 Autonomous Energy designed, supplied and installed a 30kW turnkey Solar Power system on Randwick City Council’s Bowen Library in Maroubra.
Autonomous Energy solution
- This Solar Power system features unique construction methodology. The system has been installed without creating any penetrations to the membrane coated flat concrete roof, thus ensuring that the waterproof membrane is not affected by the installation of the Solar Panels. This was achieved using an innovative ‘ballast mounting’ system, which was custom designed and engineered by a multidisciplinary team including engineers from Autonomous Energy, Schletter and Partridge.
- The mounting system was manufactured by Schletter in Germany and has been certified by independent structural engineers specifically for this project. This type of mounting system uses concrete blocks as ballast, which holds the panels in place without the need for mechanical attachment to the roof.
- An online Solar Data Monitoring and Visualisation system was installed by Autonomous Energy for remote monitoring and performance reporting. This Solar Data Monitoring System enables Autonomous Energy's Solar Engineering Team to actively monitor the performance of the system to ensure that the actual system yield outperforms our modelled data and that any downtime on the system is minimised and any issues are detected and resolved quickly. This constitutes a highly valuable service for the client that is included as part of Autonomous Energy's turnkey Industrial Solar Power systems. Annual Solar Power System Performance Reports are also provided to the client.
