Autonomous Energy is delighted to announce the appointment by Randwick City Council to design, supply and install a 30kW Solar PV system and online Data Monitoring System for the Bowen Library in Maroubra. After a lengthy competitive tender process Autonomous Energy was selected as the successful company. The Bowen Library Solar PV system will feature 140 world record efficiency Kyocera Solar Modules and three phase inverters manufactured by SMA. The Bowen Library features a flat concrete roof with a water proof membrane therefore the installation must not make any penetrations to the membrane coated roof. Working with German solar mounting company Schletter, Autonomous Energy engineers have designed an innovative and custom made solution which enables the solar modules to be mounted on special frames that are weighed down by ballast; combined with wind deflectors the need for roof penetrations are avoided entirely. An online solar data monitoring system will be integrated and a display screen will be installed in the Library lobby which will visualise the solar PV system performance in real time. Installation by Autonomous Energy's in-house solar installation team will commence in April 2013 and will be completed by May 2013.
