Energy Metering, Visualisation & Reporting

Autonomous Energy prides itself in providing the highest quality sustainable energy engineering services.  All reports are compiled by our highly qualified team of engineers therefore you can rest assured they are accurate, relevant and of the highest quality.

Autonomous Energy can supply and integrate a range of data monitoring, storage and visualisation systems that allow system owners and managers to monitor the system's performance remotely. A very wide range of data can be collated and displayed including the power output, daily, monthly, annual and total energy production to date, solar energy generation profiles, electrical voltage, electrical current and GHG emissions reduction information. External sensors can also be added to the system to show temperatures, wind speed, solar irradiation levels, building energy consumption and so on.

Once the Metering & Visualisation system has been installed onsite, Autonomous Energy are able to monitor and make detailed recommendations regarding energy usage and strategy. Our energy efficiency experts take extensive volumes of data, analyse it and report on it - providing clients with detailed advice and guidance. We take a holistic approach to energy management and look at the whole facility's energy consumption - not solar initiatives only. These independent reports may also assist clients in meeting their sustainability goals and reporting requirements.

The energy metering and visualisation can feed into a client’s Building Management System (BMS) and they can choose to display it throughout their premises.

WHAT WE DELIVER

Being renewable energy experts, our team of engineers comprehensively understand the data coming out of monitoring systems. In some cases, clients may not necessarily have the in-house capabilities to interpret the data in its entirety and act on it appropriately. In these instances, we act as the client's outsourced Energy Strategy Team. The core benefit of working with Autonomous Energy is that we are experts in all aspects of energy savings - we advise on what can be reduced and how it can be reduced in a practical way. We help clients achieve measurable, long-term energy improvements in the following ways:
  • Metering and Visualisation - installing monitoring on a client’s complete electricity consumption, which can be done with or without solar onsite. This provides very granular data about where and when electricity is being used. This data also provides insight into what size solar power system a client may need and how they would benefit from various upgrades, such as LED lighting.
  • Measurement and Verification of Energy Efficiency upgrades
  • Ongoing Energy Management Services - including performance monitoring and reporting. We take pride in the accuracy of the reports we deliver to clients. All reports are compiled by our highly qualified team of engineers.
  • Energy conservation – be notified of problems in real time, reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions
  • Track and Improve NABERS Ratings
  • Demand Management – reduce peak demand

We continue to work with our strategic partners on developing new energy metering, monitoring and visualisation systems. A broad range of power system performance parameters can be displayed over the internet (or intranet) on any number of PCs, wireless devises or on dedicated public display screens. There are numerous options available:

Internet Display

Online data monitoring allows the power system data to be displayed over the internet as well as allowing remote system monitoring. System data can be made publicly available in a user friendly format via a dedicated online web portal or embedded into other websites; or both. This allows the solar data to be used in educational activities for schools, for promotional activities for corporate clients or community engagement for community organisations.

Remote Monitoring and Alerts

Autonomous Energy offers remote power system monitoring for clients with online data monitoring, using automated alerts and alarms set to email our team if any errors occur. This allows faults to be detected and resolved rapidly without long periods of downtime. This is particularly important in commercial solar power systems as it could otherwise take some time before the effects of a fault were detected. Autonomous Energy also offers system performance reporting for clients with solar data monitoring systems installed.

Solar power system data monitoring can now be accessed from your mobile phone with apps available for both iPhone and Android.

Wireless Display

Here portable units communicate with inverter(s) via a wireless radio link. Design features include a large LCD display screen, integrated solar panel for battery charging and easy to use control buttons. The screen can show a range of system information in both numerical and graphical form.

Public Display

Large, highly visible public displays can be used both to promote your commercial solar power system and to help educate the public about solar power. Autonomous Energy can set up a public display showcasing your commercial power system and its energy production. These typically involve an LCD screen set up to display graphs, sliders or energy 'meters' as well as system information and photos. These can be mounted in a building lobby, courtyard or public area, and are the perfect way to promote energy efficiency improvements to your stakeholders.
